The Northeastern Conference Adventist Community Services (NECACS) Center is a religious, non-profit organization which serves as the humanitarian arm of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
It was established on April 9, 1972 as a community center that provided relief to those in need of emergency assistance (food, clothing, furniture and housing, etc.). After closing in 2003 for a short period of reconstruction, on June 17, 2013 the Northeastern Conference reopened the doors of the center.
The Center carries out its mission of "Serving the less fortunate and hurting, using Christ's Method." The mission is realized through the implementation of several services designed to meet our clients and customers' felt needs. This is done through relief, restoration, and community development.
At the NECACS Center, the following services are offered: Food pantry, clothing distribution, disaster response, free health screenings, and community development (job referrals, immigration services and notary public). The center is vibrant and futuristic in outlook. We therefore plan to conduct the following: ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and TASF (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) classes, Comprehensive Lifestyle Trainings, Individual and Family Counseling, and the Tutoring and Mentoring program.
The hours of operation are: Mondays through Wednesday, 11:00 am - 6:00 pm; Thursdays 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
We need your help. Together we can transform lives.
Make a contribution today, and your support will go directly towards our programs. Financial (monetary) donations supports our food pantry, Comprehensive lifestyle trainings, and community development projects. We are also seeking non-financial donations such as: career clothing (business suits, shirts, pants, ties, and belts), medical supplies (cholesterol and glucose strips, lancets, blood pressure machines, BMI machines, etc.), and personal care items (toothbrush, tooth paste, bathing soap, hand towel, hand sanitizers, deodorant, etc.).
Volunteers are a integral part of our work, so we are always looking for friendly and dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are needed to assist with our food pantry; skilled volunteers (carpenters, plumbers, etc.) to assist with renovations, graphic designers to help maintain our website and design flyers, and licensed health professionals to administer our health screenings.
