Happy Sabbath! Earlier today Mayor Bill DeBlasio declared a snow emergency for the City of New York and requested that streets be free of non-essential traffic after 8:00am in order to allow cleaning crews to operate. Vehicles that violate this order risk being ticketed or towed. Weather forecasts indicate that New York City may get up to 12 inches of snow. Blizzard conditions, with winds of up to 35 miles per hour, will make driving extremely hazardous. The Northeastern Conference has has 70 congregations and thousands of members within the city limits and many more churches in the surrounding suburbs. Out of concern for the safety of our members and pastors, and in light of the snow emergency, we are recommending that New York City churches not hold services tomorrow. Churches outside of the City are urged to follow safety and common sense in determining whether to open. The Northeastern Conference Global Prayer Hotline will host a Sabbath School program followed by a divine worship service at the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. respectively. Those wishing to fellowship and worship on this line may call in toll free at (641) 715-3660, the pin code is 888974. May God bless you and keep you Safe! Please remember to check in on our elderly friends and neighbors.
