RyanSimpsonThe Atlantic Union Conference Executive Committee, at its May 14, 2015 meeting, voted to ask Pastor Ryan Simpson to serve as the union's new youth ministries director. His responsibilities include emphasis on youth and young adult ministries, including public campus ministries. Simpson succeeds José Cortés, Jr., who is now serving in the North American Division Ministerial Department as an associate director. Simpson's educational experience includes a bachelor's degree in Religion from Northern Caribbean University, a master's degree in Family Relations from Montemorelos University in Mexico, and this year, he expects to complete a Doctor of Ministry with concentration in Youth and Young Adult Ministries at Andrews University Theological Seminary. Also, he is fluent in Spanish.

He previously served the Southern New England Conference as associate youth ministries and family ministries director; the Bermuda Conference as personal ministries and youth/Pathfinder ministries director; and the East Jamaica Conference as a district pastor, youth/Pathfinder ministries and communication director, and as a national television and radio presenter. 

Simpson is endorsed as an Adventist Chaplain by the Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and also currently serves as the Adventist chaplain at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with responsibilities to serve Adventist students and staff on campus.

Simpson and his wife, Jo-Ann, a medical doctor, are the parents of three children, Ryan, Lylah-Elizabeth, and Rachael-Ann.

Date: Sabbath, May 2, 2015

"I am having a great Sabbath in the Boston area today, having preached in two services at the Philadelphie Haitian Church. The first service is in English and is called "Bread of Life". It targets youth and young adults, features more contemporary music and starts at 9:00am. The second service starts at noon is more traditional and is conducted in French and Creole. (see first picture)

In the afternoon I was blessed to join Pastor Cornel Miller at The Waymark Church along with Pastor Tiffany Tan as they began a new worship service in Chinese (Cantonese). This constitutes the first Chinese worship in the Northeastern Conference. (see second picture)



















It is with sadness that we annouce the passing of Reginald Monestime, the beloved son of Pastor Jean-Flavio and Mrs. Orphise Monestime on April 30, 2015. Reginald was 25 years young at his passing.

In his memory, a funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

It is with great sadness that we announce to you the passing of three of our members from the Bethesda French Seventh-day Adventist Church. This was as a result of an accident while coming from the Men's Prayer Convention on Sunday, May 3, 2015.
The names of the deceased are:

Ricadeau Anantua, 33
Miguel St. Luis, 18
The following three were hospitalized: Mario Estivern Snr, Mario Estivern Jr. and Guepson Gue. Ariel Regis was released from the hospital and is home.
A special prayer meeting for comfort and healing is being called for Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 7:30pm at the French Gethsemane Seventh-day Adventist Church, 357 Empire Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11225. The men who were present at the Men's Prayer Convention are also invited to this special prayer service.
We are asking all our pastors and churches to apportion some of the time for their regular Wednesday prayer meeting to pray for those involved in this accident and their families.
Dr. Alanzo Smith, ministerial, family life and men's ministries director, along with some pastors from the Franco-Haitian community, are visiting the homes of all those involved in this accident today and tomorrow.
